Statues are incredible – like a 3D photograph they capture an instant and freeze it for (almost) eternity. Unlike a photograph, they have a life of their own, slowly decaying under the elements. Funerary statues depict a thought or a hope, sometimes telling a story and sometimes revealing a quality of the one buried underneath.
